I believe the best solutions come from collaboration—between residents, first responders, local businesses, growers and vintners, my fellow supervisors, and community partners. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made by working side by side. And I remain deeply committed to thoughtful, steady leadership rooted in care for Napa County and the people who live here.
We have accomplished so much on a range of topics in the past three years. Below is a list of some key highlights:

Strengthening Wildfire Preparedness
-
Dramatically increased County spending on wildfire mitigation and prevention: funding fuel reduction projects, partnering with Napa Firewise, and supporting local fire safe councils to improve safety and resilience in our communities;
-
Modernized and restructured the Napa County Fire Department (NCFD), improving support and training opportunities for our valued volunteer firefighters;
-
Worked in close partnership with NCFD, CalFire, and Napa County Sheriff as they responded to the Pickett Fire. That successful and coordinated response underscores the strong collaboration we have built with our first responders, our industry partners, and our residents.

Fostering Community
-
Substantially increased investments in affordable housing projects;
-
Advocating for renewal and expansion of farm worker housing funding from the State;
-
Provided incentives and financing support for infill and workforce housing through a countywide ADU program with incentives for homeowners;
-
Collaborated with community groups and wine industry partners to support immigrant families with educational resources and trainings;
-
Advocated at the State level for continued landline services and increased broadband access in rural areas;
-
Provided funding for local food assistance to address threats to food security left by SNAP benefit reductions.

Supporting Growers, Protecting Water, Preserving Open Space
-
Created a new option for small vineyard wine producers to offer limited vineyard tastings, helping small growers and vintners to connect with and educate wine consumers;
-
Achieved new milestones in our multi-jurisdictional Regional Climate Action and Adaptation Plan, including a vulnerability analysis which helps identify the areas where we face the most risk;
-
Sold the Calistoga Fairgrounds to the City of Calistoga, allowing the Calistoga community to take charge of the future of this important community resource;
-
Advanced Napa County’s Groundwater Sustainability Plan—a State-mandated plan to protect long-term water resources. This action is key to Napa County maintaining local control of its water resources, rather than handing the reins over to the State;
-
Purchased Skyline Park from the State, giving the Napa County community local control and ensuring it remains as parkland.
